Slayed em there last year
I Slayed em there last year too. They really liked rippers and Wally divers, but caught some on hot n tots and j7s as well. I cant help but think it will happen again this year. I know how good I did there last year when the bite was on. Thats why I asked about that area,I dont want to miss it when it happens this year! And if you go out of turtle creek you dont have far to go.
With gas the price it is that makes it better yet.

That area is always hit and miss this time of year for me, they are there one day and gone the next, it usually happens a little later when the water temps. get into the upper 70's and may be a little later still this year as the water temps cannot get stabilized with all these crazy winds and cold fronts coming thru every other day. My logs say mid to late July and into late August are the prime times for me. With little rippers in purples as the best bait and color for my boat. It used to happen inside danger zone one and the fish are probably still there but that area is always off limits now, sure would like to be able to fish that area again as it was almost always a sure bet in the 70's and early 80's with hot-n-tots and wiggle warts the baits of choice then.

Happy Hooker Capt. Daves fishing report said:
Be sure to keep an eye on Crane Creek area, perfect time for those walleye's to sneak back in there for that Reef Runner deep little ripper bite this weekend. We also heard the fish are not biting in Afghanistan this week, will let you know when it happens.
Can anybody tell me, where is Afghanistan?? I have no idea what he is talking about.

Glad you can get on the net. to keep up on things at home. Thanks for your service and letting me know Dave is OK. Stay focused and safe.

Caught 24 walleye tonight with 4 guys fishing from 5:00 - 9:00 NW of Crane Creek in 21 ft of water. Just east of the nets at the 12.2 line. Problem was that we could only keep 7 of them. The others were too small. Also caught 2 dozen sheep head and 4 dozen white perch along with a few white bass. The other surprize was that we caught 10 catfish as well. Went through 6 dozen worms. Casting a #5 v-cut hammered colorado gold blade with green beads. 10 - 12 count.

Ya, the fish were small we caught
Fished Crane Creek area on the 5th and the fish we caught were small 4 under 15 inches. And the fish wouldn't bite that well for us so we moved. Went out north of west sister trolling . Didn't catch any thing. Move to 31 ft. of water about 4 miles north of B- Can. We tried stinger spoons, hot n tots, little rippers, wiggle warts and nothing. I finally put on #40 Jet Divers and crawler harnesses with 6 foot leaders on. And that was the ticket! But we had to pick at them. When we caught the first fish we created a way point. We kept running over that spot and caught most fish going into the waves. We caught 12 on purple running 2.5 mph (gps ground speed) 80 to 90 foot back off of big boards.
Most fish were 20 - 26 inches long.
