Nice~! Getting ready to store some yellow perch!
Last two days catch ready for some bags, water and deep freeze.
Have you ever tried freezing them in Tupperware first. I fill a square or rectangular Tupperware container with filetsthen cover them with water and freeze. Don't fill all the way with water first time some filets will float. Then top it off again and I vacuum seal the ice blocks. It makes a big difference on freezer space because they are stackable

That Water Dog is one good perch fisherman! We struggled to not even half a 4 man limit yesterday, as did several I talked to at the cleaners.
So tell us your secret...do you have some structure marked... a good rock pile, hole, drop off or something you go back to each time?
As always, thank for your reports and pictures. Enjoy reading your success.
Here is an email response I sent to another member of this site;
I am usually, always south of G can in 20 fow. I look for the green blotches that appear on my fish finder. Let your engine idle for the first fish. Using golden shiners, run the hook through the gut then hook them so they can move around. Once they get under your boat you can run the hook from head to fin. Watch the bite, they are great at taking even the best hooked bait. Bite slows or stops, run your engine again, but not long. I have not had to move much this year. It seems the fish find me using the techniques I have noted.
I find that they run in streaks almost all of the time.
~good luck~ hope this helps.
Water Dog
50 perch today, 18 pounds at the cleaners. South of G can in 20 fow.
5 sheep head, dozen throw back yellow perch, 4 white perch, 1 gobie and a 5 inch walleye (returned unharmed).
Just could not get that last 10`!
Not sure what the storms and waves that went through the days before, had on the bite, but we had to work today.
It was 1~3 today, so a little more bouncy than I like.
Back at it soon.
Water Dog
Thanks. Same here. Had to work. A can 3 guys - 40 perch, 13#, 8:30 to 1:30. (Threw back lots of 4-6 inch perch. And out there the predicted 1 footers/9 mph winds were actually 2-3 footers with numerous healthy 4+ footers thrown in until about 11:30. So bouncy I didn't want to crawl up front to pull the anchor to move until late morning. On plus side caught 3 of this years walleye hatch (3-5 inches). Downer.... on way in on plane way out in open water with nothing showing, kaboom... hit what must have been a submerged log. It was loud and scary. Stopped immediately and circled back...couldn't find anything visible in water. Didn't hit motor. No damage visible above water. No leaks in bilge. Ran okay rest of way in...will have to pull boat and check bottom. Got me worried. Otherwise...great day on water.
