Gut pile results ~ yellow perch (Tuesday August 21st)
cleaned my last catch of yellow gold, and the results are; spiney fleas and some gobies.
these perch belly's are full of those things.
most if not all were full of the fleas, with some of the perch having both.
back at it soon, hope the storms today did not move the schools.
Get out and get some "yellow fatties".
Fish On!

See if perch caught in various locations are also eating them. Good info for perch fishing.

here is a photo taken and posted in this thread about a year ago;
the spiny fleas are small, and have two black eyes, better photos can be found by searching the internet, the ones on the lower right have been mushed in the stomach but you can still see some features.
the white piece is a growth I cut off a sheep head (looks like chewed gum) and was eaten by this perch~!
I will try to get a close up photo the next time I clean some Yellow Gold.
See a slight wiggly, Set That Hook, and Fish ON~

Friday & Monday marks

(those green blotches usually mark some good fishing)
South of G can has not been producing like it has been. Could be those storms that moved through the area.
Out several times and could only manage 8 yellow perch and 14 the next trip.
I think the weather may have been a factor, and I plan to try H can the next time out.
D can is an option too. Word at the docks is everyone is trying to find the fish.
Have been catching some small yellow perch, sheep head and some young walleye (returned unharmed).
Good to see those young fish.
~back at it soon~

It was windy~bouncy and had to deal with a big swing.
And it was very warm.

5 Perch Thursday G can area (9/14/18)
Perching is still a tuff go.
Caught 5 sheep head, 4 young walleye (5 inches ~ returned unharmed).
(no throw back perch!) They were nice keepers.
Moved 3 times around the G can area and the water clarity was fine.
Sassy Sal was in the area N W of G can , but moved further north after about 2 hours.
Water is cooling down now and I hope to see an improvement soon with some bigger walleye moving back into the area.
Fish On, (soon?)

Hi My Way~!
Weather has been a big factor, hope to get out a few more times before feet dry at the eom.
Meanwhile, there have been trips to the woods, looking for deer signs and prepping for the upcoming rut.
Until next time ~ tight lines and safe hunts

web site hickup ~ 3 posts
sorry for the three posts~!
web site had some issues when I was trying to post the results of fishing, and when they fixed the issue all the attempted posts were added!
feet dry now and Water Dog will be at a new marina next year.
Lakefront is putting in new docks in the channel and they are all 35 foot~! So smaller boats have a choice to make and I have voted with my feet.
This year has been great for the hatchery and the years to come should be better for it.
My best and see you all in the spring

Feet Wet soon~! (walleye and yellow perch)
Repairs needed for Water Dog, after that it's on!
When jigging for walleye, I also fish a perch spreader and drag it on the bottom, tipped with minnows.
