Maumee Bay April 9 & 10
Went out saturday with 3 others. We finished with 9. 4/2/2/1. We fished just east of the radar bouy on the hump. All the fish were caught on top or the backside of he hump. We were using Purple hair jigs tipped with shiners. We got a late jump on the day starting at 11 and fished till 4. Sunday fished south of the Radar bouy on the east side of channel. Started at 8 and fished till 12. Wind picked up and we launched out of Cullen Park. Concern was water blowing out. 2 of us limited off the humps. We used Purple hair jigs and a Vibe E. It was 50/50 4&4.
The water temp on Sat was 41.9 and sunday 42.4. This coming weekend should really kick off the good jigging.
Good Luck and Good Fishing

The humps
The humps we speak of are on the east side of the freight channel in Maumee Bay. Mostly they are located east of the Radar Bouy (Green & White) which stands approx 20' out of the water and approx 1 1/2 miles south of the lighthouse. The humps continue to the south of the radar bouy and on the east side of the freight channel. The humps are defined as areas where he water goes from 10' up to 7' and back to 10'. The Pear you hear people speak of is a hump 1/4 mile east of the radar bouy. The best way to locate them is to slow troll and watch your graph. Keep in mind when re-drifting to fish do not buzz over the top of humps. Do a lazy go around and use the plotter feature on your graph to locate the beginning of your drift. Engines going over the top of humps cause the fish to scurry about.
It is my opinion that this will be the ultimate weekend to fish (weather permitting) the water temp is getting very close to ideal and all the pre stage fish will run in and get to business.
Good Luck and Good Fishing
