Was on Tousaunt Reef at 7:00 and only 3 boats were there. 4 of us had out limit by 10:30. Light Southeast winds sunny. Even though we had light winds still put in drift sock. The trick was to cast with the wind and jig it back toward the boat. Not one fish was caught casting into the wind and draggin or even jiggin right next to the boat on that side. All fish seemed to be on other side. I think as shallow that it is there they might scatter when boat goes over top????? But noticed the trend with other boats in the pack. And it was a pack by 8:30. 30+ boats in the close proxmitiy in 90 minutes time. The 3\4 oz purple with a black head jig, stinger hook and minnow was the hot jig. We all had some variation of purple on weighted different until the first 2 were caught on back to back cast with the same person that we all switched to that combination. Then we all were catchin fish. We acturally stayed and fished until noon just for the fun of catch and relaese. Also netted 2 Smallmouth 20 and 21 inches and even a 12 in perch. The best advise the I can give is to get area you want to fish as early as possible because as boats started to come to the area the fishing slowed. We got our limit on 2 drifts right over reef. Hope this is helpful.....
