Report: angler-1,
I fish out of Port Clinton. Easiest thing to do is when you come out of the Portage River in April (assuming you are on the Portage)look to your left. For a week or two in April you will see the head boats and the pack about a half mile off shore in front of the Mooshead lodge. They will typically be jigging purple hair jigs tipped with minnows. If they are not there, head northwest to the reefs. Usually all drift fishing with jigs, vibee's, or even worm harnesses in April. Don't know your boating experience on Lake Erie, but be careful out there. Well known for going from flat to 6' waves in no time.
