Friday fishing by turtle island
I fished yesterday (friday) out by turtle island. It was pretty muddy in most spots, but there were some spots that weren't very bad. We ended up only catching 2 eyes, we did miss some though. it looked pretty slow. There was maybe 10 other boats fishing the same area only saw 1 other boat net a fish.
I always read about wild wings and other places like crane creek, are those places to the east better this time of the year?

East of Turtle Island
Generally speaking, the closer the water temperature gets to 42 degrees, the closer the walleye stay to the main reefs spawning grounds (off Winld Wings and Crane Creek / Davis Besse) and other spawning grounds. There are probably a few spawning areas around the western shoreline, closer to Turtle Island, but the majority of walleye in the western basin spawn on or near the main reef complex. Therefore, walleye fishing will probably be better around the main reef complex now through most of April. I'm sure there are fishermen from Toledo or Michigan that know of good spring areas closer to Toledo,
