Walleye fishing around intake?

Years ago I caught some walleye around the intake the water is still a bit muddy but can you still catch walleye around that area in 20ft of water or do you have to go out further towards west sister? Trolling bottom bouncers and warm harness or casting deries

I've been fishing a little north and east of the intake most of the year in 22-23 FOW until wind blew for a week and made everything muddy.
I've been going further north by West Sister to get into a little clearer water the last several trips out but when the water cleans up a bit you should be able to get them
I know I will try it. I hate paying $80-125 to catch 12 fish.

Thanks for posting. I live in Toledo and hate pulling my boat to Mazuriks if I don't have to. Seems most of the people posting here think the Western basin starts at the Bass Islands so hard to find out how far east i really have to go. Talked to a friend the other day who did a charter out of Meinkes West. Went out almost 15 miles North and a bit east of the intake and got 17 eyes between 5 guys trolling spoons and a couple of Bandits on big boards. I will head out tomorrow and hope for no rain. Will post how I do. As far as the cost of towing a boat or docking, and boat gas money all I can say is "Fishing is the most expensive free meal you will ever eat"!

Hahah you are right about the free meal!! Good luck let me know how it goes I was out by the intake but only 22fow you have to get like in 30 or more seems like and that's a run from anchor point. But yes lots of people fish out port Clinton and further east I can't go that far
