Merry Christmas
Would like to wish a merry Christmas to the people that post and follow this site. With the arrival of early winter right after Thanksgiving this year, it shut down any late season fishing.Hardly any posts lately. With the warm up lately maybe some hardy souls may get out and post here before the hard winter arrives.I did some winter organizing of my tackle boxes already and checked out our inline boards.Bought a large spool of Maxima ultra green in 15# test mono.Plan to take off 350' on our 8 rods and splice in the new line and calibrate.Read that our lake had another great walleye hatch from the fall survey.Should provide continued great fishing in years to come. The 2026 season is only 3 months away now.Looking forward to getting back out on our lake this upcoming year.

Merry Christmas! A friend and I got out on Saturday out of Huron. Marked tons of fish but it was a struggle. We managed 8. That was better than most it seemed at the ramp. And it was a day fishing in December. No complaints about that!!!

Re: Merry Christmas
I was out there as well! What did you get them to go on? I tried DHJ's, P10's, Jr thundersticks on lead core, bandits, 44 mags...you name it and only picked one (was by myself and fishing 3 lines). With marks like that it was frustrating, wondering if I was seeing huge shad or white bass and not walleye. Tried turns to accelerate and stall the baits, no bueno. What was the magic sauce?
Happy new year all, weather looks like it is closing in now. Hopefully it is short and we can get back out there soon!

Re: Merry Christmas
I was out saturday out of Huron also.... with very similar results. I fished bandits, p-10's, big spoons, and little spoons. Fished between .8 and 1.5 for the most part. As mentioned the marks were great, and I couldn't believe we didn't end up with a boat full. We caught 2 fish late in the day to save the skunk.

Re: Merry Christmas
We caught our fish on bandits trolled at 1.5mph. Color didn't seem to make a big difference. The fish we caught came on baits trolled between 140 and 175 back unassisted. We actually left the areas of the most marks and boats and ran east. We were mostly trolling by ourselves. Not nearly as good of marks but a few biters in the mix.

Re: Merry Christmas
Thanks for posting your fishing results last weekend.Glad you got out before winter closes it down again.Have read and experienced where you had remarkable marks on the sonar but the fish wouldn't bite.Had to go to an area that had fewer marks to catch a few.Dont really understandable the reasoning for that though.
