    Default pier fishing

Hello everyone, have been sick and, in the hospital, so could not fish or comment but have enjoyed the posts, decided to go fishing throughout the remainder off this year wherever I can doctors' orders. he wrote me a prescription (verbal) but said he would put in writing if needed for my wife or employer. so a few weeks ago I went to Jackson pier in Sandusky caught two 6 lbs plus walleye early night bite about 8 pm, in about an hour. using Bandit deep diver viral purple perch and Rapala husky jerk glass clown, fishing is off and on but highly recommend the pier fishing now, lots of reports from Huron to Cleveland big fish being caught.

Usually pier fishing we use shallow bandits. I'm surprised you used DEEP. Although at Jackson street it's a little deeper than other places around town. Glad you were able to get out and get a couple. Hope your health is better. Little chilly to fish. Line freeze at all?

I got there a little later than I wanted to, the best fishing was about 2 hours before sunset and then about an hour after sunset several people had 3 or more fish by the time I started fishing , started off with a shallow running husky jerk like everyone else was using caught my first fish on it then after several more casts I tried the deep bandit with just enough speed to feel the wobble then a pause and pull to start the wobble again and caught the second one , I admit it's not what the normal is for this time of year but it worked for me . the last 2 trips were unproductive with winds out of the west and north water levels very low also, on one cast the wind gusted and caused the bandit I was using to smack the wall breaking it in two. I will try again when weather and wind are more favorable. doctors' orders!
