    Default 9/18 perch trip

Wife and I did some perch fishing yesterday. We started just about a mile south of A can and
caught one keeper (over 8” for us) in about an hour. Moved a half mile south and west of A can. Caught a few shorts. Moved another half mile west and caught a few shorts. Moved another half mile west and caught another dozen keepers. By then, I had had enough and we headed in

After all the bad perch posts decided to cast for eyes this morning before trying for perch. Caught 2 eyes by 9 am decided to try for perch. After 2 hours & no keepers & 4 throw backs decided to try for more eyes. Picked up 8 more in 2 hours. Never thought we would do this well with sun high in the sky in 20-22 ft of water. All eyes between 17-19”. All on casting harnesses red beads & gold blades. Only 1 catfish.

Thanks for the post, I was wondering if anyone was catching any eyes. My wife and I are looking at going out next weekend. We went after perch last month and it was tough, we only caught four and I thought we were in the wrong area but I came home and read several charter captains only caught a couple, Thanks again!

Seeing boats spread out all over the lake Perch fishing. I see things are pretty slow east of the intake, near the can area. Anyone fishing closer the the Toledo channel or in that area ?

Fished just SW of the lighthouse on Saturday in 16 FOW. In 4 hours caught 4 keepers 9-11" and more than 20 dinks 7" and smaller that we threw back to grow up. It was fast and furious between 9 and 9:30 but otherwise slow. Used goldies from Fisherman's Cave because his shipment of emeralds hadn't arrived yet at 7am. They were hitting full smaller minnows and just pieces of larger ones we cut up. Spreader and a crappie rig, no bling.
