    Default 7/11 walleye

I fished east point of middle bass. From the can to north bass. Mayflies have cleared. Now you can actually see the fish on the screen. Marked tons of fish. Started with harnesses, but thanks to a slow bite, and 1 particularly ornery catfish that tangled a couple lines I switched to spoons on dipseys. Caught cats sheep, and walleyes. Everything was big today. No shorts at all. Only managed 4, but all very nice 20-24” fish. Was following north of the shoal staying in 30fow average. The walleyes preferred monkey puke. Running #1 setting at 50-60’. Mostly targeting 20’ depth. Running 2.5mph. My bite shut completely off by 10:30

7/12 update. Fished the same spot this morning. Started right off with spoons. Had them down 20-25’ in 30ish fow. I bumped the speed up to right around 3.0. 10 minutes in …hello! Nice 24” 10 minutes more another nice 22”. About 10 more minutes a 21”. This was all before 7:00am. All on wonder bread. Of course I thought a quick limit of quality fish! Na-na. Not another walleye. I of course switched all 3 lines to said wonder bread. Caught 5 cats, and 6 farm +1 nice bonus perch by 9:00. Never another walleye to be had! Open water was pretty rough on the way back 1-3s white capping. Was pretty decent between the islands. Forecast is looking better than it was for tomorrow. I may take another stab at it in the morning!
