Re: Western western basin
A group of us were out on a charter on 6/22 and our captain took us out near Huron/Vermillion as that's where they were getting reports of the schools. We had 6 of us and got 32/36 for our limit. Mostly walleye all day with maybe 6 throw backs, 2 sheephead and 1 catfish. We were just drift fishing and got a late start where we didn't get to our location until about 7am. I think if we would have started earlier we would have limited out early as it died off as the morning and afternoon heat came on.

Re: Western western basin
THANKYOU for the true western basin report. Rarely see one this far west as it seems western basin means Mazuriks for most posters! I get seldom get a chance to go out so I appreciate a report close to Toledo. Heading out tomorrow out of Anchor Point and will scan those depths and post if I catch anything

Re: Western western basin
KSL: I fished the same spot yesterday and it was sheephead city. We looked into deeper water and really had a slow bite compared to Monday.
Water temp was up to 82 degrees .
If you are going out of Anchor Point go east of the intake in 20 FOW to start. Purple Michigan Stingers with pink or antifreeze backs did best for us todayHooked on Fishin

Re: Western western basin
Well I didn't see your reply till this afternoon. Headed northwest of intake because I had a friend who wanted to cast weapons and the wind dictated that. We caught limits even though my my buddy clubbed my first 2 fish off with the net. I set out two bottom bouncers and reeled in till I was not ticking the bottom. Fished in 20-22' of water with fish marking at bottom hugging it, 20' and 10' with bait balls all over. also got 1 white perch, 2 Iranian girlfriends, and 4-5 shorts. Fire tiger blade with florescent pink spot was best
