Good Lake Map
Can anyone tell me where to go online to find a good depth map for Erie? I used to use fish map but now after about 2 minutes, I can't zoom in because it blocks everything out. Need a good map to look at so I can plan my fishing destinations according to wind, water clarity etc. Any help is appreciated, you guys have been very helpful in making my fishing trips successful. Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Good Lake Map
Following is a post I put on this site last July. The chart is no longer available unfortunately. NOAA now has a website where you can go get any chart you want but they no longer have this chart available. I tried getting a chart to my iPad but was unsuccessful. I didnt try with my computer or my phone. I know this isnt what you want but its the best I can do. If you search for chart 14830 you will see the old chart but it isnt zoomable any longer.
Ive seen questions about where reefs and buoys are at on Lake Erie from time to time. If you go to the NOAA website, search for chart 14830. This chart is zoom able and shows the western basin very well. It starts at Maumee Bay and goes all the way to Lorain.

Squatch....I have found this link/app to be useful. While it may not be 100% accurate on some finer details. It can definitely get you in common depth areas, help calculate distance, etc... if you mess around with settings you can dial in where you most often fish.

Squatch, another approach is to purchase the Navionics app. It has all the charts you may want and can do much more. I think it's about $50 but it's very powerful.

Hey Squatch,
I have used the Navionics app for years and as PatSea said it's great. I also just got the Omnia Pro App. It's the same money but it has MANY more features. It has water clarity in it, bottom hardness, vegetation, wind etc which I think is awesome. Text me if you want any screenshots for examples.
