Jigging today
Took my son and a buddy out for some jigging. We started around 8:45 due north of wild wings marina about a mile out. 13 feet deep. Got our limit in 2 hours and 45 minutes. The wind was pushing us at .7 to.8 mph so we put the drift sock out. Everyone was using a dark color. 3/4 ounce jigs. Every fish was male and some of them are still leaking the fluid of life.
There is a pack of boats spread east to west along the line where the water is cleaning up and that seems to be the spot.

Re: Jigging today
That's a fast limit!
How big is your boat if you don't mind my asking? I have a 16' and it's not a deep V so I only go out when buoyweather forecasts "smooth seas" or "mild chop." But a few of your reports were on days when the forecast was for choppier waters. (Today called for "moderate chop." Just wondering how big of a boat it takes for that to be comfortable.

Re: Jigging today
We have a 23 foot Proline. The boat will handle rough water but it’s not fun when seas are more than 1 to 3 footers so we pick and choose. The only time I will consider fishing in strong winds is if it’s from the southeast to southwest and the fish are in the shallower water along the south shore. Even then, fishing can be tougher due to the wind moving the boat faster than I prefer.
