Great Day Jigging

Went out with a buddy and his neighbor this morning. Started fishing about 7:30 and netted our 18th fishing at 9:07. Also threw back two shorts. We were just a little west of the big pack fishing off turtle creek and in some cleaner water. The wind was hardly moving us as we only moved about 600 feet in the time it took to get our fish. Real small jigging motion was the ticket today. Color didn’t matter as we had a purple jig, a black with white eye and a white and purple and all caught. Weight didn’t matter either. We used 5/8 and 3/4 ounce.

Hey Swartz. Thanks for the intel. Going to try the Saturday evening and night bite and hit it again Sunday. Were you using minnows on your jigs? Ever toss stickbaits after dark on reefs?

We never tip with minnows. I’m not saying it doesn’t work but we just don’t.

I have fished a little at night casting a deep diver and it was a blast. Obviously I’m not an expert but we wait until later in summer to do that. I’m going to post again as soon as I get done answering this post with our results from today
