Hi, I was wondering if a 19 foot 190 pt bass tracker is enough boat for light winds in June.

If all of you guys want to fish Mother Erie why didn't you buy multi species boats to begin with!!!I don't care how fast a boat goes on Erie,I am more concerned about how SLOW it will go so I can troll from March through Nov.

For your info I only have a 60hp outboard I also fish shallow lakes for perch, crappie etc. I'm not a bass fisherman, deep v boats don't allow me to fish some of my favorite waters, I was just curios if my but could handle erie (I had my doubts). My boat only goes 33 mph.

Hey eyecrazy I own a 1973 larson with a deep V and a 90HP merc. I fished Erie with my dad in this boat for 16 years. I understand were there coming from when mother Erie get mad she can get nasty. For me I am just limited to how far I can go. I fish mich. waters for the most part but have to make sure its going to be a nice day while others with bigger boat don't have to worry. Its not the speed you need on Erie because if it gets nasty you need weight or you will bounce all over the place. my advice is to what for a good day and watch the winds and go get you some of the best walleye fishing Erie has to offer.

190 Bass Tracker
Yes, It will do well. If you get into a situation just get behind a heavier vessel (within 50 yards) and let them break the waves. It is common to do and everyone knows why you are doing it. I personally have escorted many bass boats back to port. Not everyone is committed 100% to the great lakes fishing & to those of us that are--- we pay the price when trailering to Lake Ontario or Lake Michigan on our salmon trips at the gas pump.

Your boat is fine. There are many fish within 5 miles of shore that time of year and near almost any port or ramp. Know the limitations of your boat, listen to the weather and be carefull.

To erie rebel or Jiginitis69 what ship to shore radio would you recomend. I was in the market to buy a radio this is the last thing I need.
Also I would like to explain my purchase of a bass tracker. I live about 7 hours from the western basin most of my local lakes are really shallow. Therefore I had to buy a bass boat (I only get to fish erie once ervery two years which sucks I usually take a charter but My friends are to cheap) If weather permits I'm shooting for North Bass

There are a lot of good radios out there.Uniden and Cobra are two that come to mind. They all come with weather channels and can be bought for a little over a hundred bucks. The most impotant thing is the antenna.I know an eight ft.model looks a little strange on a smaller boat BUT the higher the antenna the more range you will have to ask for help or just talk to other fishermen on the water.
