First trip of the year. Left east harbor and ran to 28 ft of water just past the red bouy on SW corner of Kellys. Not many walleye marks but we did show what appeared to be baitfish. Set out 6 rods with all spoons. 4 dipseys and 2 Jet divers running from 15-20 ft down. Trolled towards monument on SB before turning south towards the pack of boats on AE shoal. Nothing for 2 hrs. We stayed east of the pack and hit a spot 23-25 ft of water. 3 walleyes in 5 minutes: made a turn and got number 4. Then nothing on two other passes. Turned east towards Kellys and caught 1 more walleye for a total of 5. (2 fish 17 inches. 3 fish 20-22 inches.) Fish caught with speed at 2.0 mph and all at the 20 ft mark. 4 on perch spoon/ 1 on blue chrome spoon. We called it a day after 4 hours. Was a little surprised at the lack of marks in this area for this time of year. Thought possibly that the sheepshead kill may have something to do with it. The smell is absolutely putrid at the entrance to EH.
