Finally a chance to get back on Erie today.

Left out of Huron river about 6:15 to 6:30am. Headed straight east based on a few reports. Stopped in about 34fow to get my lines set up. Since it was just me I started with two dipsy divers and one bandit on an offshore board. Dipsy set to 3 and zero. 3 setting lead length was anywhere from 60 to 95 and the zero setting was 45 to 65. Speed was 2.5 to 3. Spoons I used today were wonderbread, watermelon, purple, monkey puke (they all caught) and for the bandit tried fruit dot (only on for 20 minutes) and sun spot (caught the last keeper). I changed the fruit dot bandit out early since the spoons kept me very busy. Basically all morning was reel in tiny little walleye about 6 to 8" hungry little fish. It was hard to go without checking for small fish dragging. Ultimately I turned North trolling to about 43fow and then made a large turn headed back to the Huron Lighthouse. I finally came in around 1:30 with 6 walleye and one bonus yellow perch. It was a slow grind to get 6 keepers. They ranged from 16" to 20". Only one was 20" other 5 were 16 to 18. Caught a few white bass, several sheep head and one cat fish. First time catching a cat fish on a spoon. I have to guess I caught and released 20 or so tiny walleye. Those little guys are really ambitious trying to eat a spoon half its size.
