We got in a little late and decided to stay a little closer to home and save some fuel. We have been fishing north east of Huron.
We started by graphing some contours around Kelly's just a run and peek thing but concentrating on contours. We started picking up bait balls running the 48 contour and slowed for a better look. There were nice hooks under and to the sides so we set up and worked that contour. We never left it.

The bite was steady with better size fish than we were getting out east. The smallest of the 12 we brought in was over 20. No monsters but several over 25.

White was the hot color for us on spoons and cranks. The fish were deep. Our best speed was 2.9 to 3.2 with s turns. There was little wave action so we used the turns to keep the baits working.

Best baits were the small Michigan stingers and Rapala 30t tail dancers. All our fish came down 30 to 40. The only exception to white was the perch rapala that picked several at 110 back unassisted.
