Pick a better day to come up...Saturday, is going to be out of the N to start and turning NE mid morning and into the afternoon.
While the islands will protect you a little up there by Green, you still have to come back through the slop chute to get back to Catawba. NE at 12mph is solid 2-3 footers....at 15-17 mph it's 3-4s with some 5's thrown in for good measure. Northeast winds goes against the current in the south passage, so the waves get a little bigger there too.
