Island area fishing report 6/4/21

We started west of RI and did the same thing you did so we moved to East side of NB. We ended up with a limit of nice fish mostly on bandits up high 35 back at 2.1.

We went west of northwest reef and found a school away from the chaos of the island packs. We made four passes and had three limits of decent fish in about 90 minutes. It was non-stop action sorting through some of the smaller eyes. Flicker minnows and deep little rippers from 5 to 15 feet deep. We were back at the ramp by 10 am.

Took boat out for first time yesterday, mostly to check out new gear and just enjoy a boat ride on a sunny day. Got an intentional late start, saw big pack of boats between islands, decided to stay clear and go south east. 2-man limit by afternoon, ran flickers to start 35-50' back, switched to bandits as day heated up.

Sorry for the late report, Crew of 3, 6-4, a little breezy, Started East of North Bass and saw/caught nothing after an hour, so dropped down South of Lucys point, picked 3 here and made and then trolled East between the Islands. Eventually got 12 more keeper Eye's and a few shorts, and a few Sheep. Had 2 FO's , 1 was an eye and one huge barn door size sheepshead. Ran #1 Dipseys on 5 rods, best settings were 3.5/75' 2/55' and .5/36', 11 eyes on spoons with no particular color, although 3 came on a translucent pink backed spoon. 2 eye's came on the .5 dipsey with small green cranks, and 2 came on a #30 jet diver at 90' with a pink backed colorado blade. Spent 5.5 hours trolling, no certain direction trolling seemed to be better than another so really had not much of a pattern/program to follow. Hoping to get out later in the week, so perhaps the mud off of PC will clear for some "close to home fishing" . 1 neighbor limited closer to N. Bass, one had 15 in the middle where we were, and another neighbor caught 5
