Re: Casting around the islands
I got out first time of year yesterday morning. Too much wind to get to reefs. Two of us tried 3 drifts jigging with a bottom bouncer dragging just above bottom. The bouncer never got touched all morning. We caught half a dozen sheep, broke 3 fish we never saw on old jigs with rusted hooks, but no walleye.
We fished Clinton reef with 2 headboats for 2 drifts, then went to West side of Starve island to get out of wind for a drift. Started in 12 fow thought we might find a bass, but only sheep there too. We put in 3 hours fishing time. Great to be out though and water looked plenty clean and bluegreen. Saving them for next time.
