I use split rings on my crank baits and spoons, because they come that way.
However, I do have some spoons that I don't have a split ring on and they work just fine. I would imagine that a snap connected directly to the eyelet on a crank would work too.
You could tie direct, but why? A snap makes a a quick change easy and hassle free.Captain Julia "Juls" Davis
