Hey Jules. It's happened to me on two different occasions once by a large Mouth bass and the other pulling an anchor in with a perch spreader hanging to it. Now the first time I didn't have insurance so instead of a doctor Hi way bait was nice enough to give me a hand. Figured they would be experts at it. Second time was urgent care in Port Clinton and you are right about the anesthetic shot being more painful than the hook going in. Next time I'll tell the Doc to just push the hook on thru and pass on the numbing. Had to share that story. Hopefully there won't be a next time.
