We launched at Mazurik at 1:30 and headed to a new area I wanted to fish just to the south east of Kelley’s island. This trip is a graduation trip for the two young men aboard as one of them leaves for the army on July 7th and I really wanted to make this a great trip for them. I marked some good fish and set up on an east troll as the wind had almost died completely. We set up bandits from 80 to 50 back as the marks where high. We set speed at 2.0. We caught 18 fish in 30 minutes it was almost ridiculous. We turned and made another pass and narrowed down the fish. They wanted purple with pink belly and back 70 to 80 and speed of 2.5 to 3 mph was the magic set up. We ended with a 5 man limit including me reeling in my limit today. We threw back 4 that we reeled in picking up lines. We where finished up by 5:30 and just floated around on the lake and talked and enjoyed the evening for an hour before heading in to fillet the fish. It was an absolutely beautiful evening on the lake. I have this crew again tomorrow morning. Looking forward to it.
