90% of the trollers who use divers are using tru trips. The trip z is a cheap knockoff that has a completely different dive curve and requires you to let out much more line. If you are trying to duplicate the programs you see posted on here a lot you need to run tru trips. If you aren’t hitting the strike zone you won’t catch many fish.

Not sure if the Walker Tripz is the diver that you're referring to as a cheap knockoff, but that's the diver I'm running.

I'll have to compare the dive curves and see how different they are.

Here is the dive curve for the tripz. No where near what the trutrip does. And tripz’s are made in China.

I'm out of town for work the last two weeks. I'll have to sit down and look over the info you've provided.

I bought the tripz on the advice of Lance Valentine. If you don't know, you don't know I guess.

I find they pull super hard, and maybe I don't have them adjusted correctly, but I can't get one of them to release when retrieving.

I'm pretty comfortable with pulling 2oz inlines. Maybe I'll just stick with those for now, but I want to pick up some TTs to play with. I just need to decide on a size.

I'm running the older style Offshore boards with the eyelet toward the top. I've been told by another guy that the new boards don't work as well. I have no experience with them, just what I was told.

Hopefully I'll get out this weekend and try again. It looks like the perch fishing might be a little slow again this year, so I need to up my walleye game I guess.
