Saturday 17.2 miles out NE from mouth of Portage River
Left dock at 615 to make the long run
Capt Rick R Chrystal Joy. 33 foot of water with wind all over the place 10 MPH. Fish hit the best during the morning rain.
Full boat with mix of seasoned and new fisherman. Caught 42 Eyes 30 throwback 1 yellow perch and a Boat load of Farm animals. Most fish came on chartreuse #6 Colorado blade weapon or gold Erie deary 3/4 ounce. 8-12 count caught most of the fish. Also used a silver weapon that produced very well for the boat.
Capt Jerry Playing Hooky was also out that far and he got his boat limit for the second day in a row. When the wind died so did the bite. As the sun came out and it got bright fished dropped down to 12 - 15 count. When cloud and wind returned up they came again.
42 fish 54 pound at the cleaners. 282 eyes so far this year on the 9 trips verses 117 last year so that goes to show all those throw backs last year are still around and healthy. having 30 throw backs Saturday was a good sight to see for the future.
Looking forward to the upcoming perch trips and more time on the water.
