9/22 perch & walleye
3 of us went East of Gull Shoal to try for some bigger perch Friday morning but the bite wasn't happening. Fished from 8:30 to 11:30 and only ended up with only 8 perch in 3 hours. One of them was a big fat 12 inch though! Headed East of Kelly's and set up on some walleye marks and started catching walleye right away. We were the only boat there all afternoon and caught our limit trolling spoons and double willows back 50 on Tt-40's. Orange and gold blades with orange and white beads was on fire. Too bad I only had 1 of those harnesses because it caught probably half of our 18 fish. We caught the walleye from 12:00 to 4:30 in 40 fow probably 1.5 miles east of the south tip of Kelly's.
Happy to see the eyes coming back to the west! I hope to get back out there next weekend.
