I also assume the weather. We were at the condo last weekend and weather was very bad with NE winds. Water was pushed into the channels and steps from our docks to the boats were under water. Only boats that I saw go out were charters and some came back in after a couple of hours.

My guess would be weather also. We were up there last weekend and I took a drive up to the end of 53 on Catawba. Waves were terrible. Water in West Harbor was as high as I've seen it in a long time.
