    Default I have a simple question ??

will fish bite if their is an east wind ?

A friend of mine argues they will not. I have seen that fish were caught on a day with an east wind and i argue their are other factors involved. barometer, how big of a wind it is, the size of a front moving in, how long the wind has been blowing from the east, etc. I will concede my argument if i am wrong. I need someone with more experience to give me a few facts.

    Thanks all, Dennis

    A simple answer is YES

Watch the reports for the next few days, fish will be caught

Edit adder: You win the argument

Today was an east and then a east northeast wind with white water and 3+ footers and we caught 6 nice fish. Not a great day but better than most from the people I talked to.

I've caught plenty of fish in a east and north east wind trolling with the waves. but the water can get very rough and put a stop to my fishing. as long as the waves stay 3' or less I will fish a east wind. some of my best fishing on the central basin has been a north east wing and a south west troll.

Yes. Many fish will be caught. But a light east wind will still create some waves. It may be rougher than you think with he light wind forecast
