Re: Looking for trolling rods and reels
I can attest to Daiwa Sealine sg17lca and the sg17lc3b after upgrading for eyes. They served me well for many years. But I started upgrading the rest of the old LCA reels with the Okuma Coldwater 203, and I love them. They are the smoothest reels I have ever used with great drags.
But when I was upgrading the Okuma Magda Pro, I started with the Daiwa Accudepth plus 17 reels, and I cant complain about them. They were all still working good when I upgraded to the sealines. They are at a lower price, but if you are on a budget, they are a great starting reel.
As for trolling rods, any glass rod in medium light works great for us. The 8' Daiwa Wilderness Trolling Rods from fishusa.com in M/L has been exceptional
