night fishing

Went off of Wanaka last night. Fishing was slow, we got 1, another boat had 6 lines out, and when we talked to him, he had 2.

Looking at bottom with light, there were very few fish down there...

So I am new to the walleye sceen and the area and looking to go out of the walnut area. Can anyone give any pointer where to go? I would also like to go out at night and try that. All advice would be great. If anyone has any other locations to launch the boat it would be helpful.

Have not had much luck at night or in spring in the past, but got into some this past week! I thought nothing was more difficult than doing the dance and being unsuccessful- until I pulled the boat this morning at SBH. These people have no idea what they are doing working there. Guys backing in to launch when guys are trying to get out...when both sets of docks are in and workers are watching. No organization.

One would have thought that the "new guy" would have watched/learned the first year & seen what goes on around here instead of making changes right away & screwing everything up! Sounds like the sbh might be a good place to stay away from.
