    Re: Minn Kota survey

Thanks to everyone who has chimed in so far. It sounds like I shouldn't expect the batteries to give me 14 hours of 2.2 mph?
How exactly do you use the Minn Kota for steering in conjunction with...

    Minn Kota survey

I have an 80# thrust Terrova for a little 16' aluminum mod-v. It's powered by two 100 ah lifepo4s in series to get 24 volts. I troll but I only go out if wind is under 10 knots. It seems to work fine...

    Re: 5/24/24 Report

My circuit breaker was pretty hot and my connecters are pretty corroded so I will replace the wiring. I also the motor bearings feel a little rough to me so I will rebuild the bottom end.

    5/24/24 Report

I don't even know what happened. This trip was weird. It started fine, hitting no red lights on our 3-hour drive under the light of the full moon. We arrived at Fenwick before sunrise but not so...

    Who eats sheepshead?

My buddy says I'm fishing too deep if I'm catching a lot of sheepshead.
I think "sheepshead" are are actually freshwater drum since real sheepshead are a saltwater species.
    Well I'm not ashamed...

    5/17 morning report

About a 7.5 mile ride NNE out of Fenwick to 29 fow. A little misty but it was the first time I've seen the lake smooth. It was nice to be able to go full speed out and back. Counted 47 boats...

    Re: Drifting Canada

I don't know where to find the fish consistently, but I have 4 boys (and 7 girls). For a positive experience, call it a boat ride instead of a fishing trip. Then any fish will just be icing on the...

    Re: First time out 5/1/24

Our 5/1 report... Looks to me like the shallow water jig bite is done. A few boats were shallow in front of Fenwick but we didn't mark anything there. So we went out 8 miles to 30 fow and marked...

    4/9/24 jigging

I counted about 50 boats out in front of Davis-Bessie today at 8am. Looked like everyone was jigging in 13 - 16 fow. We saw a few nearby boats netting plenty of fish, but some looked awfully small....

    Thanks for that report!
Now, when you say G can, are you talking about the Camp Perry G can at 41 34.60N 82 56.80W? Or the international Boundary G can at 41 49.35N 82 58.79W?

    Re: Campground for Perch

I just did yesterday exactly what you're planning.
I stayed at Camp Perry. I only had a tent to camp in but their tent spots are just a square on a mowed field next to the shower house. No fire...
