Re: Frozen Minnows
Freezing them in cheap vodka or rubbing alcohol helps to preserve them by drawing out moisture from them so they're not as mushy when thawed. Using salt does the same thing.

Headed out from West Harbor late afternoon towards AE Shoal. Stopped in 30 FOW between PIB and Kelley's, closer to Kelley's. First line in the water at 4:15. First fish was a 17 incher on the 4th...

I'm pretty sure you can "hunt" them in MI and North of the border. For some reason, they're protected in the buckeye state and it's ridiculous

Re: 10-5 G Can area
We've always thought a little bit of a chop helps the fishing, whether it's walleye or perch. Not sure why... One of nature's many quirks I guess 🤷🏻

Definitely agree on spinning reels. I have a Daiwa Revros LT 2500 that is perfect for perching. Hard to find a better spinning reel for $50 IMO

Re: Fishing with Jason and Warren 7/28/2022
Definitely not frozen in water. That'll turn em into mush. The key is getting the moisture OUT of them so when you thaw them, they're tougher and will stay on your hook. Freezing em in alcohol helps...

Any reports of fish around the islands or near the Camp Perry cans? In years past during July, there always seemed to be some pockets by the cans or up near Middle Island. Seems like all recent...

Catawba state park has a boat launch and Jeanette's bait is right up the road. There's also a boat launch in West Harbor, right by Midway Marina. And Herb's Bait is right up the road from there
