LOWRANCE mark 5 or elite

Hello all, haven't been on for some time. I have sold my boat (1997 crestliner fish hawk) but now I getting more into ice fishing and hitting smaller bodies of water. I will be getting a canoe for summer fun till I can get into a cabin 27 ft up.
Haste makes waste. So I got a while before I get a cabin cruiser. For now a canoe will feed the need. As well as charter boats.

Right now my concern is getting a lowrance mark 5 or elite 5 for a small amount of money. I need a unit to serve on ice as well as in the canoe. My big concern is the combo finder/chart plotter gonna work on the ice? Is the anttena internal?
Does anyone use these units now on ice. I have seen the ice machine but it was the 4x.

Went to a local shop today. Answered my questions, gps is internal.All thats left is to make the purchase. Problem is now I gotta stay off ebay.
