In hull transducers

Does anyone here have their transom mount X-ducer mounted inside the hull of their boat? If so does it work ok & how did you do it? I am installing trim tabs on my boat & have to move the x- ducer. Due to limited space & lowrance's short cable (A-holes) I was thinking of trying this idea. Thanks in advance for any info.

Mine is on the outside of the transom. I believe you can buy extensions for them. ??? You must have a big boat if the cable is too short. LOL.

in hull is ok but you loose sensitivity. must sand bottom inside of fiberglass smooth if boat is fiberglass and glue down with gorilla glue that's what I did and has worked for 30 yrs on my Larson. hope your feeling better capt joe

Bought one for my HDS from IMarine also! Just so you know they come with 30 feet of transducer cable/wire with the connector and wire/cable already installed. Sort of a plug and play install.

Lineman they have extensions, just do a search on the internet for the best $. Another option and upgrade as well would be the Airmar P66 transducer. They are reasonably priced, 600w, larger cone I think and come with enough cable for a forty footer practically. I made this upgrade last year to my HDS unit and I'm very happy!

I would not mount in hull. I would scrap the lowrance ducer and go with the airmar p66 I am working on getting setup to be a dealer for airmar products.
