Yellow Sally ???
OK - I'm dating myself with this one. There's a handful of us that gather at the Con Club to tie flies on Monday nights. During BS sessions, the topic of the Yellow Sally Fly that was used for walleye fishing many decades ago has come up. I probably haven't seen one in some 45 years or so. Last night that topic came up again and when I got home I did some searches on the net that did not yield a whole lot of information and or pictures of them. The Images that I did find, did not look like how I remembered them. Some directions mentioned that they were made with chenille body and bucktail.
If anyone has any detailed info as to the how to tie up a Yellow Sally and any images of them, please post or PM me. Thanks in advance.

This is it as I remember it. I thought I still had one in my box I have been draging around for 40 years, but it's gone.Last edited by Stiksave; 01-20-2015 at 02:25 PM.

This is the "yellow sally" my dad fished in Lake Erie, usually with a "june bug" spinner.......

Thanks for the replies and photos. The photos provided still don't appear as I remember them. Will be tying some up eventually to fish behind spinners - probably will end up being a silver bass killer, but you never know.

Bailey - Thanks for the pic, but not as I recall it. What I remember is a yellow body with a red feather extending out beyond the hook.
