Launched out of the Catt Saturday.
Did a scouting mission first and ran out deep right away to 90 FOW.
Looked around a bit and didn't see anything but really didn't expect to this early.
Then came back in and stopped and looked around here and there at various depths.
When we got into 65 FOW or so we saw a few marks finally and set rods.
2 boards - one with 6 colors (I know - too much) and one with a 4oz clip weight (again, I know - too much), 2 dipseys set at #3, and the 2 downriggers were set right on the bottom.
The riggers popped here and there but nothing.
I had something small on once but it quickly got off.
Probably perch simply holding on to the crawler and never getting hooked.
And it wasn't bottom as we always made sure the cannonballs were about 3-5 ft above the bottom as we could see them on the graph.
Ran a lot of water from the Catt all the way to PB and into 35 FOW.
About noon, after trolling for well over 4 hrs, we pulled lines and called it quits.
At one point I yanked the 6 color and tossed out a firetiger Rapala without any weight and ran it 150' back of the board.
Should have done this to start off with, and probably should have worked closer to shore too.
But my buddy Jeff worked Evans Bar pretty hard and he didn't get anything either.
Who knows?
Coulda done shallow and got nothing, and then wished I had gone deep to investigate.
There was a HUGE mayfly hatch Friday night Saturday morning.
We ate a LOT of those bugs - lol
As I'm sure the fish did too.
We will get them next weekend.
