Sorry for the late post because I was tired yesterday from being bounced around on the lake. My opinion is that the weather buoy was probably correct with the reporting on the wave height at its position. When you take into effect of all the factors, wind strength, wind direction, atmospheric pressure and the position of the buoy you have to judge how it will be at the area where you are going. ??? Just saying.
Anyways to get back to fishing - We went out of Dunkirk yesterday morning at about 6:00 am to 90 to 100 ft of water. We were east of the harbor off Purina about 5 miles out. It was bouncy. Trolled west and picked up 5 walleye. Made the turn and trolled east into the waves It was a long bouncy troll. Picked up one more. Then went with the waves for a while and ended up with 8 walleye, 1 laker, 1 rainbow, and several silver bass.
