Managed a nice two man limit by 10:45am out of sbh. We were on the fence in 53' and the fish and baitfish were in the top 30'. Color didn't matter.

From Rochester, new to fishing Erie. What is the "fence" and departure buoy?

out of SBH at 6 am and ended up with a 2 man limit by 11am and 4 silvers. Hot colors for us were wtaermelon and purple/ black/ chartruse back. 4 on riggers, 4 on dipseys, 4 on lead core.

Went out of sbh today, Monday. Boated 3, 26",25", and an 18", lost one at the net, we're learning. The wind was a pain, a bad tangle, then one of our new trolling rods broke as we netted the 26", fat bastard. Had fish fry for dinner, Call it a success anyway.

We got 4 Saturday, one was 29" and 7 lb. Wind was bad, was out deeper, guess I should have been in closer we were in 50' and got all on blue renosky and blue jointed rap off riggers. Going out Friday hoping the wind isn't as bad.

Joes spot I have 27 lb but also use it on Ontario for Salmon and haven't had issues but if it's just for eyes then 18lb should be fine. I do change the leader and have 20 ft of 12 fluorocarbon but change to 20 lb for salmon. For knots I put the flouro inside the sheath of the leadcore after taking out some lead and have 2 overhand knots then have one on either end of the leadcore and leader. Guess it's called a willis knot link below.
