Pulled in a king -7 1/2 pound hen that engulfed a stick on the rig thought it was a steelie until got the blood washed off. Banner day for me, this is my first year with a boat. Heres a picture for proof.
A 10.25 lbs. If you belong to the Southtowns Walleye Club that would have qualified you for a lunker.

Copo- Natural hen with skein sitting up very high still

Capt Joe- I'd like to check out the club and try for some meetings. Weekdays are immensely tough for me, before dawn until after dusk takes its tolls. I have pulled 3 double digits this year so that has made up for the skunk days in my book. Hopefully next year with better electronics and some more dumb luck consistancy will prevail.

Good electronics are a must. GPS is too. She was most likely a two yr old fish.

Yeah that would definately not be the size expectation for an ontario chinook ready to spawn. But none-the-less made the day.

Anyont been out today or heading out for a last whack at the eyes? Or is eveyone prepping for the snow?

I am going tomorrow, not far though maybe sturgeon.

I have nothing to report. I haven't been out. Babysitting, dog sitting, bad weather, windy. But i did make it to the Antique Boat Show yesterday at the BLC on Grand Island. What a bunch of beauties.

Went out today with my stepdad and Uncle. We went out off sunset bay about 10:30am marked a LOT of fish in 63 to 68ft of water. We started with planer boards with worm harnesses and Colorado spinner, some double willow blade harnesses but the fish weren't interested...kept switching blades and beads still nothing, put out the only dipsy I have...a black #0 set to zero and I put it right out the back of the boat at a slight upward angle, line was out 210 on the counter with a homemade worm harness consisting of 5 salmon colored beads and one chartreus with a Colorado blade purple and gold...still nothing. So, I kept switching blades until finally they started hitting a #5 Colorado Silver streak UV Pink OJ blade about 2pm... I then switched the other 5 poles to the same harness and spinners without planer boards, put a jet diver on one and none of them caught fish....just the dipsy with braided line was catching...boated 6, eyes, lost a few due to my Uncle's bad fishing techniques. 5 were keepers 15 to 23in plus a couple perch and some silver bass....best outing since the end of June. Wish I had more cash to buy some more dipsy's, braided line and reels to setup 3 more poles before next year!
