Coach the 47 will hold up to 7 colors comfortably you can squeeze 10 colors on it but with limited backer. I do not use braid for backer I use 20lb mono (usually Berkley big game) I have my own theory on mono for backer acting like a rubber band and adding a little stretch giving the lead core more action. I'm well over 300 walleyes since the end of the Southtowns tourney so I feel the results are somewhat proven....lol In my opinion I would go with a 3, 5, 5, & a 7 color if your just fishing from Sturgeon pt. to Buffalo. BUT I would also get 2 Okuma 45 series reel and put 2 10 color rods together if your venturing west towards the Catt or further west. If you want a hand getting them setup get a hold of me I can get you all set up I just got 30 spools of lead core in and we can get them all spooled up and ready to go.
