ok thanks, that was first on my list, zooming up on the bottom. I have a 788ci, there are some functions that I will read about and play around with and just see how it works. Do you locate them first and then fish, or hit your usual area(s) and if unproductive hunt them up if too slow?

generally speaking, for me personally, no matter what what species i am after i first find fish then begin fishing.
one exception to the above, when i might fish proven spots without marking fish, is when the surface water temps are within the species' preferred temp range, as the fish could be up high in the water column and difficult to mark on fish finder. perch are generally related to bottom so for them i still would find them first and then start fishingLast edited by ShortHanded; 05-22-2012 at 09:28 PM.

Monday am
Bailey - I fished for a few hours early on Monday morning. I caught one 5# on a silver willow leaf harness. That was the only nibble that I had.

Time to start looking at the starting weedbeds. Fish will move into them as well as head toward deeper water
