Who's counting? There are only 105 days left until May 15 until the marinas and launches open.

I wonder if these quick thaws with warm temps and run off will have an effect spawning fish, maybe make it happen earlier. I know it will make steelhead run earlier. Seems like the eyes would want to do the same at least the creek spawners.

A few weeks ago I signed up for Verizon Fios. Now I get fishing shows 24 hrs. a day. Tarpon fishing in Florida, bass, walleye, etc. etc.etc all over the world. It's good but not as good as being out on lake Erie trolling for walleye. There are MANY fishng opportunities out there. Hay Bailey are you heading to the tropics? I believe you mentioned in a past post that you were planning a trip in Feb.?

I was planning to go see my parents but things are getting hectic but it still may happen they are in port st Lucy fla. I have all this house stuff happening right now. I have time Warner and not usually to many good fishing shows on so your lucky capt fios not available here yet. Time is flying wont be long now I am so ready to drag some worms its gonna be a good year. You know I use a couple other web sites and moderators would take posts like these out of the thread. Guess were on the best one here.

Very well said Bailey. Your right 99 days until the marinas open. Fishkiller Jim - did you see the new HDS Gen2 fishfinders at the shows? Is it that much better? I have an HDS5 and only a few years old and it's obsolete. When I'm out on the lake and get close to the Canadian Boarder I try to zoom in the boundry line disappears. I have to zoom out to get it back. Do you experience this? Do any of the Navionics Maps have the capabilities to show the US / Canadian line when you zoom in? Does anybody have any input?
Thanks,

Fishing in March?
With the crazy spring that we are having, it is starting to seem unlikely that there will be much ice this year. The forecast is predicting another 40 degree day tomorrow, and more 40's for the start of the following week.
I believe that the lake did not freeze in 2006. How did this affect fishing that year? (NB: I did not have a boat at that time, and I was not fishing much on lake erie).
Is it reasonable to think that we may be fishing in March??
