I was informed the other day that if you are 62 or over you can launch at he Small Boat Harbor for free during the week. :) Does anyone have any input on this? :confused:
I know that this opens up a few " Old Guy Comments " from the young grasshopper group. ;) But I can take it. :eek:
Fished yesterday evening on my cousins boat. We drifted 42fow from Seneca shoal. Bottom bounced harnesses on 3 way rig. One nice perch, one big shithead, and a bunch of silver bass. No eyes. Didn't see anyone hooking up either. Switched to shallow rapalas and trolled from mid gap to north gap. Then did donnleys wall run. Picked up 1 16" eye. Slow day on the water.
fished sunday put seven in the box lost four we were running thirty jets on one line longline with three oz inline weigth on the small board 0n one line dipsy on the other side and a downrigger all on harness we stay around Meyers outside the humps color on the harnesses didn't matter :D
I went out Saturday from SBH @ 7am-2pm, and started trolling between Seneca and the line. Went almost all the way down to Meyers following the line. I was trolling around 0.8-1.5 MPH with 3 oz bottom bouncers with harnesses in 40-45 FOW. I only picked up a small perch and a small silver bass. I was running out about 120'-150' of line. No eyes what so ever. I don't think I was able to keep the bait on the bottom. I also tried a 40' jet for about 45 minutes, and got nothing on that either.
Any other pointers, I saw almost every other boat pulling them in around me.
My suggestion - try a little faster 1.8, 1.9, 2.0Quote:

Fished from 6:00 to 9:30 tonight. Boxed 3 and had a handful (4) of 12-14" throwbacks around Seneca Shoal. Tried out closer towards border for first 2hours, but only 2 sheephead. Moved in closer to windmills and by the time we started marking/catching it was time to go. Towed a broken down boat on the way in.

Launched last night with my 73 yr old grandfather. The 62 and over free launch fee is true.

9 eyes for Lady Christine today. All sizes. A lot of fun. But Anchor Wheel really hammered them. :D So I heard. :rolleyes:
6 eyes boxed between 5:30 and 9:00pm. Ranged from 2-7 lbs. 5 additional throwbacks set free and one nice fish lost at the motor.
out by myself again, boxed 4, most in one day (walleye keepers) all year. front of windmills 35-40fow seems to have turned off (maybe not by myers or wannaka), strange? but got the 4 today at 45fow using lead core and harness's, sort of on the fence.
12 - boxed out for Lady Christine today. First limit in a l O N G time.
Watch out there are many a $$ holes out there. There are rules of the road that all must obide by. Keep a eye out for yourself and others. I can tell you a story that happened today but it could have been much worse than what turned out. Tangled lines big boards flipped over, etc.:mad:

Skunked......we are new to the lake also. Fished Meyers reef today and landed 6 fish. We fished 5 color lead and 30 jets. Colorado blade hanrnessbworked best for us. Put the lines on boards and move them away from the boat. Adjust sped often from 1.3 to 2.2. Sometimes we got them speeding up other times slowing down. We are in 47 feet of water. That is all I can add. Good luck. Hope it helps.
