2 today. Got out late and hot blown off.
T storms, rain, wind etc. Slow ride back to SP going into the waves. Let's give it He!! tomorrow. ;)
Now that the STW tourney is over does anyone want to share any info. / #'s where the fish might be? I haven't been out in 3 wks. & looking to go tomorrow Am. /dads day? Thanks in advance. PM me if you like.
This might be a stupid question but. Can u run a stickbait off of a dipsey? No planner boards and that's the only way I can lines away from boat. Thoughts
Yes you can run sticks off dipsys no prob I'll run a medium lip and 10ft leader between them so there is a few ft of dive curve. My boat is big enough I can move back to land fish. Lineman its hot all over for the most part but post back a few is spot on by jim.
Thanks Bailey, head in out for first time on buddies boat, he always bottom bounces harness es but I prefer trolling, hopefully will be able to post tomorrow bout catching a few!! Hope you all have good fathers days tomorrow . Good luck
Thanks for the info. guys!
Out yesterday AM. sbh. 20-30 fow. cold, soaked & nasty. Boxed 11 eyes though in 2 hours before surfing back in.
Good job rev. We're you trolling or drifting for them eyes and what location maybe going out tonight. Thanks
Boxed 3 caught A bunch junk fish, sticks off the dipseys worked great, black silver n Orange bellies worked for us. Thanks for the info guys!!
Happy Fathers Day Everyone!
Capt. Joe I think we were circling each other yesterday. There weren't a lot of boats near Myers yesterday as they were all packed up near the fence and condos. We just sat back and cleaned up in less congested water. 3-4 colors of lead, purple harnesses, and deep diving rapalas and reef runners, 32-42 FOW.
Check out how Blue this walleye was. I have a couple other pics. One of its eyes had a badly deformed eye. Wonder if that caused it to be such a different color. What do you guys think?
It is just a slight color variation is all we catch quite a few like that. they are pretty.
I am currently set up for walleye with bottom bouncers, dipsys and jets. Sticks and harnesses. I am catching fish with those techniques. I am not, however, set up for lead core in any way. Am I missing the boat by not using this technique along with the others? Where could I go to get 2 rods set up for our end of Lake Erie?
Dennis
...Happy Fathers Day to Me!!
Was out with my buddy doing our annual fathers day fish drifting waverly shoals. Jigging a gulp leech - landed a 32" walleye in 18' fow (who knew). To big to eat but will make a nice mount. We were out to say we were out, it was a beautiful day.
I have never seen so many boats lined-up in the water waiting for retrieval. The line stretched out to the last row of boats in the slip. The wait had to be over an hour.
Well I'll catch you next time Capt Joe! Dennis send a PM to FISHKILLER he can get you exactly what you need, and is a wealth of knowledge on lead ore and walleye.
Dennis x2 on gutpiles reply. Hey capt joe I think you need to take copo under your eing for a quick walleye refresher course if you could lol.
Boxed 12 with my daughter yesterday despite the crazy Ivan my daughter did driving, she does alright most of the time but a set of choppy waves while texting and me taking a fish off put a planer board off the bow and one stern =Spaghetti:(. 38-45 ft, 2-3-4 color, all on harnesses, NW Seneca shls a bit we found a nice school but fished today and they were spread out and ended with 5 by noon. Good fishing everyone
Wishin Fishin, the wait was over an hr. & again I say I will never go on a weekend again! especially on a dads day Sunday. I guess I am a slow learner.
Greenhead , sounds like you had a good day, nice going. I have had a few of those spaghetti days with different drivers on the boat also.
We won the bass tourny today! Placed the top weight with eight slob bass. Lol:rolleyes:
That's great! I saw all the boats in bass mode out there. Hey copo, were you on one of those fancy smancy bass getter's out the or what?
I realized about 11 that it was little quiet because the radio never got turned on. Sorry I missed your call, did u see me?
Not sure. I was told you were out through the grape vine. Aka Barry to bailey lol. Where were you fishing? We launched out of sturgeon and fished from Meyers to Seneca. Got one eye right away. 32fow and that was it. Nothin but bass and silvers after. Then the wind picked up n we headed for port. Guess we shoulda gone from sbh and fished south gap out
Monday between wind mills and Seneca found a decent school in 44-46 ftw so headed there yesterday and it was not like Monday. They were spread out and not as hungry. Day earlier a lot fish had both hooks in a lot of them. We thought about trying Myers but leaving fish to find fish I thought was a bad move.
It looked promising when we hit the first one right off the bat. Right at my old numbers from last yr so we worked the whole line and no eyes. So then swung out to 38-40 on the way back n nothin but silvers. Ran from 15 to 30 depths. Eye came off 5 color lead in 32fow. Man it was hot out there
Hey guys,
Going out friday morning out of sturgeon. Was planning on heading to Meyers. If anyone heads out there and wants to share a report I'd appreciate it. Will report on my luck either way.
Copo, what recipe lead core set up you running, what bait and how fast? Just curious because my 5 color set ups would be scraping i think in 32ft. My set is 70ft of 17lb floro, 5 colors of 27lb, and 30lb braid backer.
Lol. They were some monster bass. Figures troll for eyes, end up with bass. They were fun to catch anyway. They were destroying the harnesses. Every one was hooked good in with the front hook. Got lots of silvers too. Would literally get the lead out n set and you'd have a silver.
