heck maybe a free dinner to go with the free lunch  ;)
Guess we need a seminar for picture posting.
That looks nice. Nice selection.
Oh look we have a show off lol. B3B i think some of our problem is doing the pics from phones. I'll try again today.
Ok we know in the summer months when capt joe is off the lake will be rough and winds high. So how do we link this weather to him I know some how it's tied to him.
Just leave the money in the box on the dash..... lol:mad:
Does anyone know if it's possible to net minnows at the foot of Ferry St, or is the ice bad?
Going to make up some salted minnows for ice fishing, and for when the perch fishing (boat) starts again.
Planned on going to the Niag. show Sat. but not sure if we'll go now due to the weather report. 50 mph white outs make for a long ride.:(
B3B, you use all those rods at once? Looks like a nice collection of equip. & spinners. I thougth I had stuff but nothing like that. I think I am only up to 35 -40 rod & reel combos. Wife only counts 26.;)
Don't know about bait access but walkers are making their way out of SP today haven't heard how bad shoves are or ice conditions.
More colors...

Sometimes those Orange ones are killers...
No, I only use 6, 7 rods at the most (Starcraft 196). It only started getting bad when I wanted to switch over to Saltist reels. I'll let someone else count them up when I kick the bait bucket !!
Bad part is that I reached the end of the wall with rod holders. SWMBO might notice if I turn the corner
I keep more in the boat so I don't have to make that turn. I even had to sell Robbie a couple, to get some empty holders.
Right now I just want to get out there and use the shorter rods. This is off of Sturgeon Pt. a couple of years ago.

I like your rod holder idea, are they just conduit screwed to wood thru the bottom & how far apart are they? What kind & size are the wider oblong blades & are they single or double bladed hanness you use. Thanks for any info. There were alot of bad ice mounds out of SP last wk.
Rod Holders...
1 1/2" sced 40 PVC 12" long
I spaced mine 4" but I think 4.5" would be better for the bigger trolling reels.
Screw holes, first one 1" up from bottom, and 2nd one 1" above that, on the PVC.
I pre-drilled the holes in the PVC to keep it from splitting or breaking, and used 3" deck screws to attach to wood barn frame. The pre-drilled holes are just barely bigger than the OD of the deck screw shafts.
Harnesses..
I usually run 2 willow blades, my favorites being 4 or 4 1/2's.
I make some 5's, but not a lot of them.
I was looking at those blades that bailey has in his signature. I like some of them, and may order some soon ( Like I need some more :D ). I like the Whip Tails, and Hatchets. I don't have many hatchets, and I think the lure vibrations they have may be the ticket on a slower day.....
B3B, thanks for the info. Is Bailey a local dealer for those blades?
No i am not a dealer there is a possibility of me getting into some retail but just not sure of i have enough time. I am trying to get a few places to stock blades locally. I have a few other companies I like and am getting stuff from soon just because patterns rock. I'll put up some links. Although look at tylers basement creations, youll be spending with him for sure. Tell him I referred you if you do purchase from him. You can find him on Facebook also. He's a good guy to deal with.
These guys came on from Indiana for the show in the falls great products and stop by their booth if your up at the show. http://itoflies.com/ . Check out harness flies awesome stuff right there. Also friend them on Facebook.
And to think i was gonna plug Innovative Outdoors and say don't forget our local Guy's while at the show, but i would walk right by now l:Dol
Always a few bad apples in the basket :(
Boy - it will be interesting if everyone meets at the show.
" Can O' Worms ".......
Would be a good name for an aluminum boat :p
I'll be opening mine up in about 2 1/2 months......
End of March early april weather depending, I'm going to start off by harassing the brownss of lake O. 42 degrees inshore and game on can't wait also will be looking for ring backs on erie.
I'm going to go out on a limb here. I bet ya by Saturday night Fishkiller will lose his voice.
Yeah I'm still picking away at fish in freezer myself, glad i had people out with me to take some home when we were done. Although i have the hankering for some perch straight from ice to fryer. If wind don't mess it up sp this wk.
After season I always take a break from this thread as travel hockey season for my kids gets pretty intense. I always start geting the itch end of January and all of you guys help get me going again.
I hope everyone had a great holiday season and I look forward to another great season.
Went to the show, and got there about 1:00.
Seen Robbie, Jim, and their better halfs. Not a ton of walleye stuff there, but lots of Lake Ontario Salmon/Trout stuff. Pick up a couple of Renoskis from a booth, and some snap swivels from Jim.
The weather was REALLY bad. Robert Moses was a lot of black ice. On the way home I stopped at the foot of Ferry to see how the netting looked for minnows. Lots of big chunks of ice floating around in the netting area, but it can be done. I wasn't about to try in that 40 mph gusting wind. Couple of cars had a hard time getting back onto Niagara St. because of the 1 to 2' of snow on the road between the bridge, and Niagara St.
I actually witnessed 3 accidents on the way home. One was a 5 to 8 car accident on the 190-S, near Hamburg St. Happened about 75 yards in front of me, and was a real Mongolian Cluster, weaving through all the skidding cars, and trucks. There were back bumpers, broken lights, and mangled cars with hoods bent up at 90* all over the highway. There was another on the 190-S about 50 yards in front of me, but it was a single truck, practicing his dance moves. Some how he missed everyone around him, but one other truck skidded to a stop about 2 feet from his passenger door. He was facing 90* to traffic, in the middle lane when he was done dancing...
The last one was on Clinton St. near Union. The car went head on into guard rail right behind my truck, after he started loosing it right next to me coming from the other way ! The guard rail he hit was on my side of the road !!)
I was glad to get home unscathed !! Those could have been expensive lures, and snap swivels !!
Oh Yea, I just checked my barn doors, and windows. Their all locked up safe for now...
And the Pit Bull was still hungry...
I turned back to home was pretty crappy to do a 100 mile round trip if i took main rt 8 tried back way which is 80 mi. Guess I'm gettin old I let weather detere me. Oh well i just missed running into people not really anything i need or was planning to get. Hope all drive safe it's all white outs and icey.
bailey..
Just sent an order to "Barbs". They changed their co. name to Backwater, but those are some really nice blades they have.
I better hide THAT receipt !! They add up fast !!
Wow, when I woke up this morning, I didn't know I needed 50 more blades !!
It must be one of them "Gettin' Old" things...
