I know that Lake Erie walleye fishermen get a bad rap for not telling info. on the walleye catch out on the lake. Well if anyone wants to know about fishing the lake give me an email and I will try to help you out the best I can. I've fished lake Erie with my father and friends for over 25 yrs and we have done well on our catch. Last year we went in 6 tournaments, placed in the top 10 in 5 tourn., placed in the top 5 in 4 tourn. and won one tourn. All I can say is that there are a lot of walleye out in that lake, and in the 6 tourn. we fished, we caught over 230 walleye. Pay attention to the fish finder, make sure you save every time you catch a fish and record what you were doing!

    Good fishing!

    Default Port Colborne walleye

This was my first full year on them and I must say I didn't have the success I wanted. I've learned alot and if you want to catch lake erie wall's then you should spend some time fishing with an experienced guy. Mind you if your not in the right place at the right time it's still an uphill battle. I fish this area all the time, on sept 5th I went south west to 65 feet. Spent a couple of hours with no luck. Lots on the screen but nothing bitting. Also noticed alot of bait fish there too. Moved out to 83' and faired much better, Got three in less then an hour. All on harnesses about 50 to 60 down. Seem to like the blk and prpl but also had luck with gld and grn. Good luck and keep us posted

I have to agree about right place right time, Jeff. Most of the success we've had this year was because other anglers were generous with their advice. Same goes for colours - we found that black and purple worked well too, especially down deep. See you out there.

I read a lot of the posts especially if its by someone who has contributed to ones I have put ip or added to. I work a lot and don't get out as much as I would like so reading threads is enjoyable to me. I have learned a lot from all who shared info and I try to give up what I know. I never fish the canadian side of the pond but still browse to see what's said. I know next year I will fish eyes more. Thanks for sharing and keep on catching, tight lines all
