General lake info ?

I am new here and new to fishing the lake and just reading these forums trying to learn all I can and I really appreciate everyone posting I am trying to figure out at what point does the lake start getting deeper I have not seen 60ft of water we have been fishing the north side of Kelly's island and the west side but not real far out of the west side of the island and we have fished in front of cedar point where are some places around put in bay middle bass or just any other places I'm not asking for exact cordiance I have vary limited electronics we have been doing alot of drifting and casting I am trying to get setup for trolling but I am just looking forward to everyone's opinions and once again I really appreciate this forum

hi deepwater. i'm sure i am NOT the best guy (or source of info) for responding to your post since i only get to fish lake erie 1-2 times a year, but here goes. there are some good- tho somewhat general lake erie maps available from Fishing Hot Spots | America's Preferred Fishing Map. they are waterproof, show water depth, fishing hotspots, and gps coordinates for various landmarks, underwater reefs, islands etc. cost about $15 each. some that may interest you are
1- lake erie western basin
2-lake erie bass islands area
3-lake erie central basin-west
the lake gets deeper as you head east. maps include a disclaimer though, not to be used for navigational purposes. good luck!

Can you trailer your boat or are you looking to stay fishing around the islands? I'd fish Huron and to the east at this point if the year. That area is good almost all year long. Also, read Capt. Juls reports. You should be able to catch them casting and also trolling harnesses or stick baits there.
